Therefore, prepare a place in which there will be a temperature of about 23 degrees Celsius, there will be no drafts, and sunlight will not be direct. The window sill is most suitable in apartments, however, you can independently arrange the dishes with seeds in any other suitable place.

There are several available methods of germinating oats:

  1. Rinse a small amount of seeds, about a handful, carefully under running water and pour into a clean jar. Pour the cereals with water at room temperature and keep them like this for 8 hours (it is not recommended to cover the jar with a lid). After the deadline, rinse the swollen seeds and place them on a saucer covered with a wet piece of cloth, cover the oats with the same wet handkerchief or gauze. In order for sprouted oats to be eaten, another 12-14 hours must pass. After this time, white “tails” of no more than 2 mm appear on the grains - this indicates that the seeds have accumulated the largest number of nutrients and can be included in your diet.
  2. In order to slightly accelerate the process of seed germination, you can use the following method. Pour 3 tablespoons of washed oats into a small jar. Fill with water at room temperature (0.5 liters), cover with gauze and fix it with an elastic band or use a lid with frequent and small holes. Let it brew for 8 hours (for example, at night). In the morning, without opening the cans, pour out water, add a new one, gently shake the can, pour out again. Turn the jar upside down and set it on the device, such as drying for plates or spoons. Perform this procedure daily for 3-4 times. Already in the evening, you will notice how the sprouts begin to hatch. Put the seeds in a container and put in the refrigerator. Remember that you can eat sprouted oats only for 3 days!

Before you buy oats in a store, make sure the seeds are clean and firm. Seeds that have lain for a year are best suited, however, carefully look at the cereals for traces of rot - if you smell a pungent smell or you see mold - better refuse the purchase and look for another oat.

If you missed the moment, and the seeds already have greenish sprouts larger than 2 mm - in no case do not eat them! They become poisonous! Throw away and prepare new sprouted seeds.
