Attention: the skin should not be too smooth, because after drying it will stretch and may tear near the place of repair. Also make sure that a tubercle does not form, which will be too noticeable.
  6. Leave the jacket to dry the glue completely. If the product is made of thick leather, then it should be placed under oppression for a while.

  8. A small hole can also be decorated with machine embroidery.
  9. After repairing the damage, sew up the lining of the jacket. Select the threads to match the lining, make the seam inconspicuous.
  10. When the glue is completely dry, the gap, and the whole jacket, paint with a special paint for leather things.

To avoid further damage to the leather product, systematically inspect it. The most vulnerable places where the skin on the jacket is usually worn and torn are sleeves (in the elbows), pockets, straps with buttons and loops.

If you notice that the material has become much thinner than over all clothes, then strengthen the “weak spot” in advance. It is not necessary to use a leather patch for repairs. It is enough to glue a piece of fabric from the wrong side.

If the damage is more serious or you are not confident in your abilities, then it is better to take a leather jacket to the workshop. The wizard will select the most suitable option for repairing the product. It is possible that you will have to not only glue the jacket, but also sew a new piece of material at the site of damage. Such an operation is best done on a special sewing machine.
