Shod rowing - a description of where it grows, the toxicity of the mushroom

This type of mushroom as shod rowing, better known as matsutake, belongs to the family of rank-and-file. In translation, the word Matsutake sounds like a spruce mushroom. I would like to draw attention to the fact that this species belongs to the group of delicious mushrooms, which are especially appreciated in the east (used for cooking Asian and North American dishes). This is due to the beneficial nutritional properties of the mushroom, as well as its pleasant characteristic pine aroma and exquisite taste.

Description and features of appearance

The mushroom cap is quite large (reaches a diameter of 200 mm). The main color of the fruiting body is brown (dark / light shade). The surface of the hat is densely dotted with large scales, which makes the latter visually appear silky and shiny. The flakes themselves are dark brown in color. Most often, in adult specimens, the surface of the cap is cracked, so that you can see the flesh of the fruit body in white.

The leg of the shod rowing is quite high, reaches 200 mm in length, small thickness - up to 30 mm in diameter, expands closer to the base. The peculiarity of this type of mushroom is that the leg of the rowing is often tilted, that is, lowered low to the surface of the earth. There is a brownish tint ring on the leg.

The plate-like body of the row is light, the plates themselves have a small depression. In very young representatives of the ordinary family, as a rule, the lamellar body is hidden by a characteristic protective film. Subsequently, this film is transformed into a ring on the leg, which has a dense fringe.

Despite the abundance of fruiting of matsutake mushrooms, it is not so easy to find them for subsequent collection, this is due to the fact that this species grows, mainly hiding under foliage litter. The most common this type is in Asia, Canada.

We note that the population of shod rowing in Japan over the past few decades has decreased significantly, due to a decrease in the distribution of pine nematodes. The price of some instances of this type of mushroom in this Asian country reaches several tens of dollars. In fact, this mushroom in Asia is appreciated as well as truffle in Europe. The main place for growing shod rowing in our country are the eastern regions.

Where grow, features

The main habitat is pine forests, and rowing is also common at the foot of oaks. More often than not, matsutake chooses groves for its distribution, the age of the trees in which is at least 30-70 years. The peculiarity of the species is that the row grows around the trees, forming peculiar rings of large sizes, which, in essence, are called “witches” because of this.

As mentioned above, matsutake is not so easy to find, since these mushrooms are hidden under deciduous cover. This fungus selects the infertile soil for growth. When soil fertility increases due to fallen leaves, such an environment for this type of mushroom becomes unsuitable. Accordingly, this is the reason that the row shod, never fruiting in the same place in the forest more often than 8-10 years.

This type of fungi of the rank-and-file family like matsutake is quite picky - for its growth, certain climatic and weather conditions are necessary.The maximum daily temperature should not exceed 25-26 degrees, night - not lower than 17-15 degrees. Peak growth in rowing is seen after increased rainfall. That is, the peak of fruiting matsutake - this is the first autumn months.
