But taking into account how fuel prices, in particular, gasoline are rising, the car will soon become really a luxury, which is why we decided to tell how it is quite possible to save gasoline.
Imagine: even in such a technical matter, there is room for people's advice on fuel economy. Of course, no one advises adding herbs or making lotions, but we can definitely call the tips really tested in practice popular, as the people use them.
Monitor the technical condition of the car
This is trite to horror, but there are so many malfunctions that can significantly affect fuel consumption that you probably can’t remember everything. For example, the oxygen content sensor in the exhaust, which is not working or does not work correctly, is capable of very “qualitatively” misinforming the control unit, which starts to inject large amounts of fuel. Speed control
The lower the engine speed and the higher the gear, the less fuel will go. You can’t achieve much savings in urban conditions, but having left it, feel free to switch to the fifth, and if you have it, then the sixth, and a stable 80 km per hour is guaranteed to please your wallet. Remember when you move on it? Then, when the front gear is the smallest, and the rear is larger. Warm up the motor
Cold motor = additional flow - this is an axiom. Oil frosts very thick, the temperature that is obtained in the cylinder is low. For this reason, a higher concentration of gasoline-air mixture is needed.This is a prerequisite for uniform operation of the motor. If it is not preheated beforehand, then the flow rate can increase up to 1 liter per hour. Daily warm-ups add 200 g per day to your consumption. If you think that the widespread recommendation of car makers “led the way” should become the rule, then we will disappoint you: this is only so that you buy cars more often, or at least carry out engine overhaul. Neglecting warming up, you torment the engine with oil starvation, since even synthetic oil thickens at sub-zero temperatures. Tires There are two options - this is air pressure and the choice of tires. When you drive out and the tires are still cold, measure the pressure in them.
