Allergy sufferers choose a camel blanket successfully - wool does not cause a reaction. Due to the antiseptic properties of camel hair, bedbugs or fleas will never start in such a blanket. The blanket does not let the cold through, but it releases fumes from the sweat of a person. This means that such a blanket protects against overheating. Of course, natural products have a lot of advantages, but sooner or later such a blanket is still contaminated. And then you have to wash it. To prevent the wool from slipping and the blanket to lose its appearance, the camel product must be washed correctly.

Machine wash for camel blankets

In general, wool products are not recommended for machine washing. However, the delicate washing mode will allow us to make an exception. In order to determine whether it is possible to wash a camel wool blanket in a typewriter, you need to carefully consider its label. If it says that machine wash is allowed - you can start.

  1. Products made of wool, especially camel, should be washed at low temperatures - not higher than 30 degrees. You need to set a special mode for washing wool - it has fewer revolutions and more gentle drum movements.
  2. As a detergent, you need to use special compositions for washing wool. They contain lanolin, which envelops each villus and protects it. After washing woolen items with lanolin, they become soft and tender.
  3. If such a tool is not at hand, you can use ordinary powder, but it is very important to add an additional rinse, because the soap composition is washed off from the wool quite difficult. If you do not use special products with lanolin, then do not forget about the conditioner - it will at least somehow soften the washed hair.
  4. When setting the washing mode, the “Spin” function is better to turn off or to minimize it. If this is not taken care of, aggressive movements can simply roll the blanket into one large ball of camel hair.

How to wash a blanket manually

If the blanket is very large that does not fit in the washing machine, it will have to be washed manually. To do this, you will have to soak it in the bath.

  1. Before washing, the blanket must be thoroughly shaken and knocked out. This will clear it of dust and the smallest debris.
  2. Pick up a third of the bath with warm water. Dissolve a detergent in water - a powder or a special composition for washing wool with lanolin. You do not need to add a lot of detergent - it will be difficult to rinse it.
  3. Dip the blanket in soapy water so that it is completely submerged, then leave the soaked blanket for an hour.
  4. It is impossible to twist a blanket, it can be beaten off with fists. This will allow all the dirt to go outside. If the blanket is large, and you have absolutely no strength, you can climb into the bathtub and trample the blanket with your feet. Such washing will be much more effective.
  5. After you wash the blanket, you need to rinse it. To do this, drain soapy water and slightly squeeze the blanket out with your hands, without twisting. After that, draw clean water into the bath and again remember the blanket with your fists. So the soap composition comes out of it.
  6. Drain again and rinse 3-5 times until the water is clear.
  7. After this, you need to make sure that there is water from the blanket. Since the wet blanket is very heavy, it does not need to be carried far. Just put a chair in the bathtub and put a camel hair blanket on it. When the water drains a little, you can dry it.
