Rules for getting rid of glue stains

  1. If the stain has dried up long ago, and you noticed it just now, you need to scrape the dry surface of the dried glue with the blunt side of the knife. This will make the spot less bulky.
  2. Then you need to check the material for resistance to the selected stain remover. For example, you decide to choose a nail polish remover that perfectly removes glue stains. You need to check how the material reacts to such a chemical composition. Choose a secluded piece for the test, for example a lining of clothes, so that in case of failure the stain is not visible. If the material is not discolored in the liquid-treated area, you can apply the liquid to the glue stain.
  3. Moisten the sponge in nail polish remover and place on glue stain. Leave for half an hour to soak. After the adhesive dissolves and becomes soft, it must be carefully removed with a cloth or dry cloth. After that, wash clothes in the washing machine as usual.

Modern chemicals can remove almost any pollution. However, it is important to know what and how to derive. To remove glue stains from the fabric, you can use the following methods.

  1. One of the most popular glue stain remover is acetone. You can also use a paint thinner, but it can only be applied to a fabric with lasting colors.
  2. Perfectly removes stains of glue gasoline. They need to get the stain wet and leave for several hours. After processing with gasoline, clothes should be washed with a strong powder that removes grease stains.
  3. Another popular, effective and affordable remedy is vinegar. Any acid in concentrated form will dissolve the glue, especially the glue-moment.
  4. Conventional stationery glue can be removed under a strong stream of hot water. After the glue softens and swells, it can be cleaned with a brush with coarse villi.
  5. A thing with a stain of glue can be “frozen”. That is, we put clothes damaged by a stain in the freezer for several hours. The glue freezes, tapers and “sticks” from the fabric fibers. After the clothes are pulled out, the glue just needs to be scraped off with a sharp object.
  6. Glue can be removed not only with frost, but also with heat. To do this, place a patch of clothing with a stain between two layers of a cotton cloth and heat this sandwich. The glue melts and sticks to the napkin, so periodically you need to substitute clean areas of the napkin until the clothes are clean of stains.
  7. You can get rid of glue stains with kerosene. Pour the flammable liquid into a small container (such as a penicillin jar), cover it with clothing so that the stain is on top of the neck, and then turn it over. Kerosene saturates this place well and eliminates the glue stain. Then the clothes need to be washed in a washing machine with the addition of dishwashing detergent (it will get rid of oily kerosene stains).
  8. It happens that glue stains have damaged a favorite item made of thin material, such as silk or chiffon. To get rid of them, when washing in the washing machine, you need to add a glass of vinegar (a tablespoon of apple or wine vinegar to 200 ml of water). Acetic water will not remove large spots, but small splashes of glue will disappear without a trace.
  9. If you stained clothes with PVA glue, then removing such pollution will not present any difficulty.Moisten a copiously cotton pad with vodka or alcohol and apply for 40 minutes to the stain. Glue will be removed without effort.
  10. In construction stores there is a special tool "Antikley", which is designed to dissolve dried glue. They can remove the stain - most importantly, act according to the instructions.
  11. You can get rid of silicone or wood glue as follows. Dissolve a small amount of powder in the basin, add two tablespoons of soda and soak the stained thing in the prepared liquid. Then wash it, as you usually do, the glue will come off without difficulty.

To prevent glue from getting on clothing, all safety precautions must be observed. Before performing work, which includes the use of glue, you need to change clothes to old ones, which you can easily stain. In some cases, it is necessary to wear a special working apron. Such aprons are worn even by children in labor lessons. The workplace also needs to be protected with litter so that the glue does not get on the furniture or carpet. If you think about the consequences in advance, you won’t have to think about how to remove glue stains from your clothes.
