Wolfhawk - a description of where it lives, features

In nature, there are a huge number of snake species. Among such a variety, there is a special snake, which has the name dunce. They belong to the family of vipers. The snake got this name due to the amazing placement of its front teeth. They are slightly enlarged. Such snakes, despite their awesome appearance, are not poisonous.

Wolftooth

Habitat

It can often be found in forest areas, gardens, parks, as well as near human housing. It can live at an altitude of 1800 meters above sea level. The snake crawls very easily on a vertical surface.

The snake has a small body, not more than one meter in length. But in most cases, the caught creeping animal was not less than one meter. Dwarfs are common in Australia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Laos, India and so on. Due to the low abundance, the shrimp is listed in the Red Book of the USSR and Turkmenistan.

Appearance

The snake has all shades of black, red-brown or dark gray. She is sheltered by large dots. These spots are found throughout the body, they are white or pale yellow. Thanks to them, the puffer becomes invisible against the background of nature. A special distinguishing feature of such a snake is a white strip around the neck. All coloring allows the snake to be invisible on the ground, on the forest edge, among the rocks and crevices, in the abandoned burrows of other animals. Her body is covered with smooth scales.

Depending on the area, the color of the snake may vary. You can even see among this species and albinos, or snakes of such a color, which is not inherent in the shrew. The snake's face is a bit like a duck's beak from the cartoon. Such a slightly flattened shape allows you to successfully dig sandy or soft soil. The tail is short, with a sharp tip.

If the snake has chosen a place for itself near human housing, then even a working walk-behind tractor will not scare her; she can fight for her territory - she can bite. The snake bite is absolutely not fatal, but can cause pain. She only bites when she feels danger. Outwardly, it can be easily confused with a kraot snake, the bite of which is very toxic.

Snake habits

Wolfhounds are very mobile snakes. If alarmed, she may make a sound similar to the movement of rattlesnakes. With the onset of darkness and at dawn, they are most mobile. As a rule, she hides for a day under cover. With the onset of cold weather, the snake hibernates.

Nutrition

They prey on small lizards (geckos, skinks), and also eat frogs, eat small fish (gobies), and mice. If you catch it, then over time, with proper care, it becomes manual.

House maintenance

When keeping the puffer at home, it is important to ensure that there are no holes in the terrarium, since the snake can crawl away. They can hide where there is moisture. It is necessary to feed the snake once a week and clean it in the terrarium with the same frequency. At the bottom it is necessary to put a soft litter and provide the necessary lighting.

Breeding

Wolfhair breeding
Mating snakes falls in the spring, about a month in May. Wolfhounds lay eggs in order to reproduce offspring. This happens around June - July. As a rule, in one clutch there are no more than 11 eggs, they are small in size - no more than 2-3 centimeters in length and 1 centimeter in diameter. From the egg after 1.5 months, a small snake 15 centimeters long appears.

Snake Attack Precautions

If the bristle tooth has taken a threatening pose, safety precautions must be observed:

  1. In no case do not turn their backs to her.
  2. There is no need to run, because in a hurry you can not see and step on another snake.
  3. Do not put your hands in front, all the more waving a stick in front of the shrimp - this provokes it to attack.
  4. It is necessary to move back with leisurely steps.
  5. In the dark in warm weather you must use a flashlight.
  6. If she crawls away, it is unnecessary to pursue her.

If, however, the broombreaker has bitten, then it is necessary to immediately seek qualified medical help. If this cannot be done in a very short time, it is important to take certain actions:

  1. Treat the wound with an antiseptic so that the infection does not get, but in no case not with green, as this will complicate the examination of the bite.
  2. The victim can take 2-3 tablets against allergies.
  3. If the bite fell on the hand, then it is necessary to remove all the jewelry, since with an allergic reaction it can swell.
  4. It is necessary to provide a person with a plentiful drink (water, strong tea, broth).

The main complications after a bite can be severe fear, infection, or an allergic reaction in people who are prone to allergies.
