Today we look at where the earthen fiber grows and how dangerous it can be. It is worth noting that such fruiting bodies are capable of provoking quite serious poisoning. There have been cases where accidental consumption of the fungus was fatal. Consider what this instance looks like and study all its characteristics.

Earthen fiber

Description

  1. The fruit bodies under consideration during their growth build up a small hat. The maximum diameter cannot exceed 4 cm. In very young specimens, it has the shape of a cone. These hats are somewhat similar to bells.
  2. With age, the hat becomes more open in mushrooms. At the same time, a small tubercle remains in the center. Hats are covered with a thin and delicate skin. It can be colored purple, pinkish, yellowish or white. In addition, the surface is silky-fibrous.
  3. In young fruiting bodies, the edges of the caps are lowered along with the remains of the bedspread. With age, such edges dry out and crack. As for the pulp of such a mushroom, it has a fragile and white flesh. It tastes spicy and has an unpleasant aroma. You can also smell the earth.
  4. From the bottom of the hat you can see a large number of wide plates. They do not attach well to the leg. The plates can be gray or white. When the mushroom matures, they acquire a brownish or brown color.
  5. Fruit bodies have a small leg that is cylindrical in shape. The thickness can be 5 cm. In this case, the length is only a maximum of 6 cm. It can be curved or straight. If you look closely, then in the lower part of the legs you can see the thickening.
  6. The leg is almost always painted white. In the upper part you can see a powdery coating. In young fruiting bodies, the leg is almost completely filled with longitudinal white fibers. As for the old specimens, they are empty. In addition, with age, the legs can acquire a brownish tint.

Subsurface earthen fiber

  1. Earthen fiber has a second subspecies. In such fruiting bodies, most often the hat is painted not in white, but in violet, lilac or lilac. If the mushroom is old enough or even old, then the plates that are under the hat are painted in a bright orange-brown color.
  2. The leg is almost exactly the same color as the hat itself. Sometimes it can be a little darker. As for the distribution area, fruiting bodies and their brethren in most cases prefer the average climatic zone. At the same time, nothing prevents such instances from growing in a colder place.
  3. In addition, the fruits are mainly found in mixed and coniferous forests. Mushrooms prefer to create mycelium with pine trees. Also, specimens can grow without problems on the sidelines of roads that are located in such forests.
  4. These fruiting bodies can be found in the European part of Russia, East Asian, North African and North American forests. As for fruiting, mushrooms can be found singly or in small groups. Fruits grow from mid-summer to mid-autumn.

Virulence

Toxicity of earthen fiber

  1. The most important fact should not be excluded from the attention, fruiting bodies are extremely poisonous and are not used in any way for food. The mushroom pulp contains 20 times more muscarin (toxic substance) than in panther and red fly agaric. This enzyme destroys the human vegetative system.
  2. With all this, even after prolonged heat treatment, toxic compounds do not break down and remain in the composition of the fungus. The first signs of poisoning are diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, fever and abdominal pain. If you have this, go to the hospital immediately.

Similar views

  1. As for the similar edible fruiting bodies, the specimens under consideration fortunately do not resemble one. When going into the forest, a poisonous mushroom you will not confuse with anything. Therefore, do not worry that you can be poisoned. Be careful when hunting quietly.
  2. The only thing worth mentioning is that fruit bodies with white hats are a bit like a pure mycene, which belongs to the category of inedible mushrooms. However, the latter has a dun hat color. At the same time, it is moist, and the edges have furrows. Such an instance has the smell of radish, and the leg is hollow.

Earthen fiber is classified as dangerous and poisonous fruiting bodies. When collecting mushrooms, special care must be taken. On the other hand, these fruits are difficult to confuse with edible. Therefore, do not worry ahead of time.
