Caramel pepper - description and characteristics of the variety

This variety is characterized by early maturity and original color of the fruit. As a rule, with proper care and favorable climatic conditions, harvesting can be carried out 100 days after planting material is planted in the ground.

Caramel Pepper

Ripe fruits have a chocolate hue and a cuboid shape. As they ripen, pepper acquires a glossy surface, the fruits of this variety are fleshy, and on average can reach 140 grams. The wall thickness is moderate. The plant gives high yields, both in open and in closed ground. Caramel is famous for its high taste.

Cultivation and care

Growing seedlings should start 65 days before the expected moment of planting open ground (greenhouse). The optimal time for planting is the last decade of May, the plant will not tolerate unexpected frosts.

  1. Wells for seedlings should not be made too deep. Stir this variety preferably in a well-lit place. Seedlings are grown at a temperature not lower than 22 degrees.
  2. Also, do not forget that this culture prefers rich, chernozem soils. If cultivation is carried out on poor soils, then it is necessary to produce regular fertilizing with organic or complex fertilizers.
  3. The bush itself is small in size, with a fairly strong stalk and abundant leaf cover. The advantages of this variety include increased drought tolerance.
  4. When planting a plant in no case should not be placed close to each other. In one square place should not be more than three copies. If desired, furrows can be made in the aisles, into which periodically rotted manure, complex fertilizers can be added.
  5. This culture needs abundant watering, mulching between rows of straw or sawdust.
  6. For beginning gardeners and gardeners, the problem is that peppers are grown in open areas, where, as a rule, the wind walks. This negatively affects the development of the plant and its fruits. Pepper feels more comfortable in greenhouse conditions, and, accordingly, the crop can give more.

Watering

Watering the plant should be done directly under the root, as otherwise there is a risk of sunburn.

Remember that you should not water the plant immediately after planting. We must give it time to take root.

This crop does not tolerate drought, but also does not favor excess water. It is necessary to ensure that the soil does not dry out; mulching between rows is recommended.

Reviews gardeners

My husband and I have been pensioners with experience, and from the time we went on a well-deserved rest, we only dream of peace: we have never stayed in a city apartment for the summer. We expect spring all long winter, when will it be free! At our site, we grow tomatoes and peppers.

Every year we grow new varieties of pepper. Last summer, we purchased the Caramel variety. This culture really liked the unusual coloring of the fruits, sweet taste.

With a little effort, you can get an excellent crop of Caramel pepper. We grow seedlings in boxes on window sills with additional lighting in the morning and evening. Seedlings at the age of 50-60 days are planted in an unheated greenhouse.

We prepare the soil in advance, in the fall. We dig the earth, we make humus, compost. In early spring, we loosen the soil with a plane cutter and apply phosphate fertilizers.

We also practice top dressing with herbal infusion of chopped nettles. We put grass in a special barrel, fill it with water, stand for several weeks and water pepper.
