Doctors are wary of spices that women consume during lactation. For example, delicious poppy seeds, which are ubiquitous in baking, provoke conflicting opinions from nutritionists. On the one hand, poppy milk stimulates the production of breast milk, makes it more nutritious and tasty. And on the other hand seasoning contains morphine and codeine, which produce a sedative effect.

Flower seeds have long been used in the food industry, due to their high nutritional properties and caloric content (more than 500 kcal per 100 g). At the same time, the seasoning harmoniously combines the components necessary for normal life:

Seeds contain protein and calcium in an easily digestible form more than natural homemade milk. These components are the building material for the skeletal system of mother and baby, strengthen enamel, contribute to the normal formation of the first milk teeth. They are also responsible for the health of the muscle system and eliminate the tone that worries the baby in the first months of life.

Cobalt is responsible for enzymatic processes. Thanks to him, the liver and stomach work better, food is absorbed faster.

Iron provides oxygen saturation of the body, prevents anemia after childbirth, heals the baby's circulatory system.

Potassium regulates water-salt metabolism, preventing fluid stagnation in tissues. And sodium is responsible for the acid-base balance, on which the general condition of the body depends.

Magnesium in the poppy is responsible for the work of the brain, strengthens the central nervous system. It increases concentration, productivity and attention, improves fine motor skills in a child.

Of course, only correctly selected poppy possesses the indicated properties.

  1. Opaque packaging. It protects seeds from sunlight, which leads to rancidity of vegetable fats.
  2. Friability. Adhered grains are a sign of improper storage of poppies, moisture.
  3. Purity. Among the grains should not come across trash and traces of the plant. This indicates the dishonesty of the manufacturer and, in particular, the packaging department.

  4. Diseases of the internal organs (liver, kidneys, gall bladder, etc.) and the respiratory system in the mother and the baby.
  5. Disorders of the central nervous system in a child, including congenital pathologies and syndromes.

Mom should understand that seasoning codeine and morphine contribute to forcibly calming the crumbs nervous system. On the one hand, the child will cry less and sleep harder, but subsequently systemic disorders can occur, especially if you abuse poppy milk or decoction from seeds.

Pediatricians do not recommend mothers to introduce poppy seeds into their diet until they reach a tiny six-month-old age.

A woman should carefully monitor the child's reaction when adding poppy seeds to dishes. If drowsiness and lethargy occur, as well as skin rashes, you must immediately stop taking seeds.
