Most residents believe that special care for cat hair is necessary only with the regular participation of the animal in contests and exhibition events, which will help it to shine in all its glory. Nevertheless, even the most ordinary tailed and baleen pets require basic care, consisting in regular washing and combing of the coat. This is especially important for animals of long-haired breeds.

Proper combing of the cat: what to consider

Any owner of such a pet as a cat is well aware of one of the main habits of these pets - the frequent licking of their hair. In fact, in this way the purr not only combs itself on its own, but also gets rid of unpleasant odors. The disadvantage of this cleanliness is the constant ingestion of the animal's own wool. As a result, lumps of wool constantly accumulate in the pet’s stomach, which subsequently can cause intestinal clogging. Also often in individuals of long-haired breeds, the pile falls into the so-called warlocks, which the animal cannot get rid of on its own.

All these problems are easy to solve - for this you just need to regularly comb your pet.

When combing animals of long-haired breeds, some features should be taken into account. First of all, such fluffy pets should be combed in several stages.

The procedure for combing cats of shorthair breeds is much simpler. For high-quality hair care, it is enough to carry out such a procedure weekly with a convenient brush. This will not only eliminate excess pile, but also give the coat softness.

It is important to consider that during the molting period the animals should be combed much more often, especially if the purr has a long coat or thick undercoat (daily combing is permissible).

Bathing Procedure: Features

Owners of cats of short-haired breeds and having a dark color were lucky most of all. This suggests that the bathing procedure for such pets can be carried out only 3-4 times a year. For long-haired animals with light hair, this procedure is needed much more often. It is best to use a special spray or dry shampoo for these purposes.

In fact, bathing with dry shampoo is not a traditional water treatment. This is due to the fact that this hygiene product is more like powder, which is applied to the animal’s hair. After some time, it is removed by combing.Thanks to such a dry bath, the pet’s hair is cleaned of dirt. If during the procedure the cat’s hair is highly electrified, it is better to use a spray that has an antistatic effect.

Traditional bathing fluffy pet is best done in the bathroom. Directly for washing, specially designed liquid shampoos are used, which can be purchased at the pet store. It is important to consider that this procedure is indicated only for healthy animals. The duration of the process itself should be no more than 10 minutes. The recommended temperature for bathing cats is at least 35 degrees.

I would like to recall that most cats do not like to swim, this is due to the fear of water. Therefore, be patient or ask for help from one of the household members who will help keep the escaping animal.

Proper bathing cat

Bathing cats is a special process that should be carried out according to all the rules.

1. First, the pet should be most carefully lowered into pre-drawn warm water and gently wet the coat. In no case should you allow the water to fall into the ears of the pet. At the same time, you should not lose vigilance - hold the animal tight so that it does not break out and does not scratch you or your assistant.
2. Next, liquid shampoo is applied to the wool and rubbed well. Please note that the detergent should not be applied too abundantly, since if it foams well, it will be rather difficult to wash off. To wash the shampoo clean water is suitable, supplied from a shower hose under low pressure.
3. After the remnants of the detergent are washed off, the cat should be removed from the bath and wrapped in one or more long towels. This will help protect the owner of the animal from scratching the pet, for which bathing, in fact, is a lot of stress.

To calm a pet or pet, hold it against you, let it calm down. After this, you can unwind the towels and thoroughly wipe the animal, thereby thoroughly drying its fur.
