Buying a Christmas tree for the holiday from year to year, you have to spend money every time on the main "guest", who after a few days is simply thrown out into the street. True, for those who have stove heating in the house, then the tree will become useful in the form of wood.
Therefore, some believe that money is not spent rationally. It is more profitable for them to spend some time on an artificial Christmas tree, which will last several decades. Such a beautiful woman does not lose her freshness for a long time, does not require special personal care - she simply waits quietly on the mezzanines of the next holiday. Yes, and there is no need to spend time looking for a magnificent beauty, then invent ways to deliver her home. In general, there are many problems, and an artificial Christmas tree frees them.
But, on the other hand, a synthetic beauty, even with scented needles, is not able to give the holiday that charm that comes from a natural resident of the forest. Natural smells of needles and spruce resin in combination with tangerines are the aromas of our New Year's childhood.
You must admit that the living heat that the forest beauty gives us does not emanate from the artificial Christmas tree. A synthetic tree is simply an attribute of a holiday that can become familiar with its diversity at annual celebrations.
A natural tree is each time a new “guest” in your house who has come to cheer you up. And I want the holiday to last as long as possible.
Extend the life of the Christmas tree
Among those who support the tradition of putting a natural spruce for the New Year, there are those who throw out the tree immediately after the holiday. Some hold it until Christmas. But real connoisseurs of winter festivities hold an elegant beauty almost until Epiphany, enjoying her charm (until March 8th - only in a joke).
And with this last one, I always want the needles on the tree to stay longer fresh and fragrant. And you can extend the life of a felled tree in several ways.
Firstly, you can’t immediately install a spruce from the frost - it needs time to adapt. Hold it for several hours in the hallway if you have a private house, or in a closed loggia if you live in an apartment.
If you are used to putting a Christmas tree on a tripod, it will begin to dry very quickly. But in this situation, you can try to lengthen the tree "century". To begin with, in the lower part of the trunk you will have to free 10 centimeters from the bark. Then do one of the procedures:
- grease the bare trunk with glycerin;
- wrap the bottom of the spruce with a wet canvas and then moisturize it regularly.
All holidays you can keep the tree in a bucket of water. But then you have to think over a system how to fix a tree. Perhaps the tripod will be comparable in size to the bottom area of the tank.
The best option to preserve the freshness of the spruce is sand (you can take the earth). It should always be kept moist.
Using one of these tips, you will help the New Year's beauty steadily transfer the dry heat of your premises. But to make the Christmas tree really comfortable in your home, you should take into account a number of nuances.
- In no case do not use tap water - it must be filtered or at least settled down, and also not cold. Therefore, the liquid in which the New Year tree will stand, and which you will water the sand, must be prepared in advance.
- The absence of roots - this does not mean that the tree does not need food. The tree will smell more fragrant and stand green longer if you cheer it up with such a “cocktail”: sugar (1 tbsp) diluted in water, salt (1 pinch) and aspirin (1 tablet).
If you do not want to buy live spruce for the holiday for the reason that you do not want to "ruin" nature, let this moment not bother you. In the markets, trees are sold that are the result of thinning of coniferous plantings (such as sanitation).
Buying a New Year's beauty should be as close as possible to the holiday. A tree lying on your balcony will not stand in the apartment for a long time, delighting with its presence. Here, even the methods of "resuscitation" may be ineffective. And you will inevitably have to take out the Christmas tree immediately after the holidays.
